Mónica Fernández Varela (Lugo, 1977) is the spa manager of the Attica 21 Villalba. Before coming to the spa world, he studied University Studies at the University of Santiago de Compostela, both the Diploma in Business Studies (Lugo Campus) and the Degree in Business Administration and Management (Santiago Campus). In addition, she completed complementary training directly related to the world of SPA, specifically the module "Creation, Design, Optimization, amortization and Profitability of a Spa" (within the Master Spa Manager).
Although his professional beginnings took place in other sectors, combined with the family business, it would be in the Hotel Balneario de Guitiriz**** (Lugo) where he began his professional link with the thermal and wellness world integrated into the Hotel part. In this establishment, she worked as a receptionist and, later, as coordinator of the Spa Reception between 2004-2006.
She is responsible for the Spa area of the Hotel Attica 21 Villalba since its opening in 2006.
The spa at Attica 21 Villalba has become a wellness reference in Galicia in recent years. What is your secret? What would you highlight about your spa?
One of the main attractions of our Hotel Spa is its environment. From any point in the thermal area, through the huge glass window, trees, and nature. Our guests can disconnect surrounded by a landscape of great beauty. A privilege for guests, visitors, and all the staff of Attica 21 Villalba. If to this we add a session at the Spa and a good massage, what more could you ask for?
From the Spa, it is worth mentioning its team, of great professional and human quality, and its offering of treatments and services. We cannot forget the multiple possibilities offered by our establishment as a whole: a romantic getaway, a family stay or celebration, a business trip, a Spa day and even the celebration of a wedding. All this is seasoned with the rich gastronomy of our land and its balance between tradition and modernity.
Which are the services you offer most demanded and highlighted? Do you have exclusive treatments on your menu?
No doubt the thermal area, massages and relaxation, and beauty rituals allow to combine different therapies (exfoliation, wrapping, massage, facial beauty treatments...), so that our clients can choose the treatment that best suits their needs
We highlight our exclusive cabins "Claustro Pileta de Madera", presided over by a beautiful wooden vat where you can enjoy a couple's bath and a relaxing massage; and the "Gran Claustro", with its treatment ritual, chromotherapy bathtub for couples, Roman thermal and contrast showers. At the end, you can enjoy a moment of rest and some attention.

I take this opportunity to mention our 2nd hotel of the group with SPA service, Attica 21 Vigo 4**** Sup-Bussiness & Wellness, a fabulous establishment located right on Samil Beach, in Vigo.
