Paradores con spa

Thinking about a getaway to pamper yourself while enjoying an exclusive environment? Combining Paradores with a spa can be the perfect idea to enjoy a few days of relaxation, magic, and history.

Paradores is a network of hotels with a curious history: born in the early twentieth century, it emerged with the aim of providing accommodation for travelers and hikers of the time while improving the international image of Spain, which at that time was not the most glamorous, precisely, and especially for travelers.

They soon began to become a series of hotels so exclusive that today it is not at all easy to access the network if you are a hotel entrepreneur. Among other requirements for a hotel to join it are that it is a building with recognizable values (almost all are historic buildings and many of them are considered of Cultural Interest), with a solid vocation of service and exquisite customer service, and that they are located in monumental or natural locations and away from commercial areas.

Staying in a Parador is a unique experience where you can soak up history, nature or both, and doing so in one of the 11 Paradores with spa facilities that the network has is also almost like being in paradise.

If you stay in any of the 97 Paradores that this franchise has in Spain, or in the only one outside our borders, in Portugal, you will surely have an unforgettable stay, but today we focus on our specialty, the Paradores with spa to tell you everything you can find in them.

How many Paradores with a spa are there in Paradores?

The truth is that not all Paradores have spas. Many of them have Wellness spaces and some of them do not have these wellness services.

Only 11 of the popular Spanish hotels have a spa in their portfolio of services. However, that won't be a problem when it comes to enjoying a good spa session during your stay, because Paradores with spas are spread across 9 of the 17 Autonomous Communities.

Parador de la Granja (Segovia, Castilla y León)

Just 11 kilometers from Segovia is the Real Sitio de la Granja de San Ildefonso, which was the summer residence of the Spanish royalty.

And in this Royal Site, of imposing gardens is located the House of the Infantes, today converted into the Parador de la Granja.

This Parador with spa is ideal for a romantic getaway as a couple whether the weather is good (and you can see the fountains in operation, at Easter, or for San Fernando, Santiago or San Luis), or in winter, if you want to enjoy a few days without tourists and in a different environment.

We recommend you combine the spa circuit with one of their personalized treatments and finish the day strolling through the gardens and enjoying the typical beans.

Parador de Cruz de Tejeda (Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain)

We can't end up any other way than in paradise.

The Parador de Cruz de Tejeda is a natural paradise in the middle of the island of Gran Canaria where you can enjoy a spa with panoramic views of the island.

Immense Canarian pine forests and imposing mountains of volcanic origin await you every time you look out of any window.

But relaxation is not the only thing the traveler lives for. Therefore, in addition to wonderful spa sessions and hiking, you can also visit the interpretation center of the rocks, the Bentayga Archaeological Park or the Medicinal Plants Center, where you can discover the plants of the island.

And it is also a pet friendly parador (but remember to warn before making your reservation and check the conditions of accommodation for pets). What more could you ask for?

Parador de Alcalá de Henares (Madrid)

The Parador de Alcalá de Henares, although located in the former Colegio Mayor de San Jerónimo, from the 17th century, perfectly combines modernity and tradition.

In one of the most literary and traditional cities in Spain, you can enjoy this unique spa and relax under the vaults of the church of the old convent.

Highly recommended is the VIP room: a VIP cabin for two people where, if you stay with your partner, you can enjoy together any of the treatments.

Parador de Cádiz (Andalusia)

A contemporary jewel in what is considered to be the oldest city in the West: the Tacita de Plata.

Enjoy breathtaking views of the bay, stroll through its narrow and shady streets and enjoy the unique and special wit of the people of Cadiz.

Very close to the Parador de Cádiz you can enjoy a beach as emblematic as La Caleta, so evocative of Havana's Malecón.

And once you've been pampered at the Parador's spa, be sure to try the typical sea urchins, almadraba tuna and shrimp omelettes.

Parador Costa da Morte (A Coruña, Galicia)

The Parador Costa da Morte is the only Parador in the selection that is not located in a historic building. However, although it is of recent construction, its contemporary architecture that adapts to the hillside on several levels will not leave you indifferent.

Half an hour from the Cape Fisterra Lighthouse, "the end of the world" and with incredible views of the hypnotic cliffs and beaches of the Costa da Morte, from this Parador you will leave with your mouth open (after filling your stomach with delicious cuisine, of course).

In its spa (overlooking the sea, by the way) you can access the water area, whether you are staying there or not, and enjoy treatments that will leave you new on the outside ... and inside. You can also do it with the whole family, because children are allowed from 10 am to 12 pm.

Parador de Vielha (Lleida, Catalonia)

Can you imagine being immersed in an outdoor whirlpool while it's snowing?

It's possible that the Parador de Vielha is the only Parador with a spa where you can enjoy an outdoor whirlpool in winter, after a thrilling day of skiing.

Situated in the middle of the Catalan Pyrenees mountains, on top of a hill from where you can see the whole town of Vall d'Aran, with its charming houses.

And you can discover the Aranese cuisine, with French influences, in its circular glassed-in restaurant.

Parador de Lorca (Murcia)

On the grounds of the Castle, the Parador de Lorca offers you a travel back in time.

Under the hotel, you can visit an archaeological site, with a 15th-century synagogue, the Almohad wall, an Islamic cistern, or the citadel, in the so-called "Fortaleza del Sol".

Special mention must be made of the Relax Card, in which you will find treatments that will leave your body and mind practically blank.

Parador de Santo Estevo (Ourense, Galicia)

In the heart of the Ribeira Sacra, in a breathtaking natural environment and at the confluence of the Miño and Sil rivers is the Monastery of Santo Estevo, today converted into the Parador de Santo Estevo.

It was declared a Historic-Artistic Monument in 1923 and the experience of relaxing in a spa with dreamy views is joined by the experience of strolling, amid the murmur of religious music, through its three imposing cloisters, one Romanesque, one Gothic, and one Renaissance.

Parador de Corias (Asturias)

Staying in a monastery may well be the closest thing to a haven of peace you'll ever know.

Precisely in the monastery of Corias, a National Historic-Artistic Monument known as "the Escorial of Asturias" for its size and sobriety, is located this parador of northern Spain.

In its cellars, you can tour the archaeological remains of the primitive construction, dating from the eleventh century and if you prefer nature to history, you can also enjoy the views of the landscape and the Narcea River (by the way, walking next to the parador you can find a Roman bridge and a fairytale landscape)

And if relaxation is what you are looking for... combining nature with the variety of treatments you can enjoy is a guaranteed luxury.

Parador de El Saler (Valencia, Valencian Community)

The Albufera Natural Park awaits you with all its natural richness to welcome you to this Mediterranean Parador on Parador Nacional de El Saler, which combines the majesty of the dune landscape with an avant-garde building.

Here you can not only relax, you can also enjoy playing golf and even soccer because the Parador has a grass soccer field

And, of course, put the cherry on top of the day with the rich Valencian cuisine and the products of its orchard.

Parador de Aiguablava (Girona, Catalonia)

The Parador d'Aiguablava is another of the Paradores with a spa where you can also enjoy the sea views that almost all its rooms have, on this occasion, to the cove of Aiguablava.

Between colonial-style Indian houses and the medieval castle of Begur, a stay at the Parador de Aiguablava is much more than relaxation: walks and activities full of history, a delicious selection of fish and seafood served by the sea, and a brand-new spa with personalized treatments, air beds, waterfalls and much more await you.

In summary, Paradores with spa can be one of the best plans if you want to travel, sightsee in Spain, visit unique and singular places while you relax, and take care of yourself.
