General description
The Panticosa Spa is located at an altitude of over 1600 meters, in the valley of Tena (Pyrenees of Huesca). In winter, the area is excellent for skiing. The spa is close to the ski resorts of Panticosa and Formigal (10 and 30 minutes by car, respectively).
The use of the spring of Tiberius has been known since Roman times. However, he lived a long period in which the spa fell into oblivion and it would not be until 1693 when he built the first "Casa de los Baños"
In the eighteenth century when the thermal activity is definitively established and the following century, the main buildings and gardens of the complex are built, after Ferdinand VII cedes the exploitation of the waters to private hands. Then 8 buildings were built to take advantage of the various sources in the area.
In 1966, Baños de Panticosa was declared Conjunto de Interés Turístico Nacional.
