General description
This simple spa is the perfect place to rest after a long journey through the Costa da Morte.
The fame of the waters of Carballo already comes from Roman times (in fact, vestiges of them were rediscovered in the current facilities).
In 1716, when a neighbor found the remains of a spring of mineral-medicinal waters, the owner built a house hospital and a chapel in honor of the Virgen de la Estrella (hence the name of the street where it is located today).
In the 19th century, the Count of Torre Penela improved the facilities and they reached a thousand bathers in 1871.
Description of the Balneario
The spa has a thermal water pool (circular shower, hydromassage, bubbles, jets), offers respiratory techniques (nasal showers, pharyngeal showers and inhalations), muscle and bone techniques (parafango), aesthetic techniques (seaweed, mud or chocolate wraps) and complementary techniques (relaxing massages).
