General description

The Balneario de Compostela is simple, a perfect establishment to get started in the world of relaxation if you have never tried them as it is its facilities are very complete and, at the same time, rewards simplicity so you will not feel uncomfortable or out of place. A highly recommended place for all those pilgrims who want to pamper themselves before returning home.
Description of the Balneario
The spa consists of several levels: it is located on floor -1 and after accessing the spa reception (where a towel is also provided), one first encounter a hot water pool in which to swim a little. Next, up some stairs are already two more dynamic pools with jets, goosenecks, counter-currents, waterfalls, water beds, Jacuzzi, and bubble seats. These facilities are covered by a huge glass window so it must be very nice to enjoy the natural light during the day.
On one side of the room are already two dry heat rooms, a large Turkish bath, an ice-water frost room, a bithermal shower, an aroma shower, a circulatory leg circuit, a relaxation room with warm marbles and chromotherapy, and an outdoor solarium attached to the pools.
The entire tour takes about 2 hours in total.
The hotel provides a simple white bathrobe and comfortable flip-flops that you will find in your room, but you must wear a hat.

Our experience
The Balneario de Compostela is a three-star hotel with no great luxuries but nothing to complain about either: everything is very correct. The reception is small and simple. The staff was very friendly and attentive from the first minute. The room we were able to enjoy was outside (overlooking a small garden at the back of the hotel). Although the hotel is next to the national road, none of the rooms overlook it and, being relatively new facilities (the hotel was opened in 2004), it is not a problem either as the soundproofing is impeccable (and it is not a very busy street).
The room was spacious and very pleasant, with a space with sofas as a lounge. The impeccable cleanliness and a nice box of chocolates as a welcome gift are the highlights.

The restaurant menu is quite simple but all the dishes we tried were quite good, although perhaps not up to the standards of a three-star restaurant. On the other hand, the breakfast - though also very simple in terms of products - stood out for the great variety.
