General description
The hotel Iberik Aguas Santa was inaugurated in 2006. It is built in the vicinity of the old spa founded in the mid-nineteenth century. It ceased to operate in the mid-five and the abandoned buildings were destroyed by fire in the late seventies.
Today the spa has modern thermal water facilities with a space of more than 2000 m2, architecturally conceived as a glass cube, which allows the user to be in contact with the surrounding nature.
It also has an 18-hole golf course, for the enjoyment of golf lovers. It is located between the Galician cities of Ourense and Monforte de Lemos
Our experience
As soon as we arrived at Iberik Augas Santas, the very hall of the building struck us as most elegant and we were surprised by the amplitude of the facilities. The second floor, where we had our room, in addition to having very long corridors, had a lot of attic corners that, as we would see the next morning, provide plenty of light to the entire space.
The Hall of the building itself seemed the most elegant and we were surprised by the spaciousness of the facilities.
The Augas Santas Spa struck us as a very distinguished and perfect place to disconnect (to the point that we were grateful that the venue was so large so that the wifi would fail us and we could disconnect from real life).
For us the Iberik Augas Santas is undoubted, a small oasis lost between the city of Ourense and Monforte de Lemos.
Description of the Balneario
On the main floor, the establishment has a large jet pool, a small cold water pool for contrast, whirlpool beds, and a jacuzzi. It can be crossed from one side to the other by crossing (with care) over a small wooden bridge.
Finally, one of the most striking facilities is the outdoor swimming pool with solarium, waterfall, and gooseneck. To be able to enjoy warm thermal waters in the open air, surrounded by a small garden, is very pleasant.
On the first floor, we will find several saunas and Turkish baths, an ice room (with ice for contrast) and cabins with hot tubs, pressure applications (jets, circular shower, contrast shower, and footbath), inhalations, massages under showers and body wraps.
It is mandatory to wear flip-flops and hats.

Type of waters
From that first moment, you will be able to notice, smell and feel the incredible properties of the hypothermal, weakly mineralized, sulfurized, and radiative waters of this spa on your skin.
The bicarbonated waters stimulate pancreatic enzymatic secretion, increase the saponifying power of bile and alkalinize the origin of the bile.
Sulfur water are indicated in rheumatological, dermatological, and respiratory processes.
Sodium waters are indicated for gastric processes with hyperacidity.

All of them with complete equipment: bathroom with separate toilet, minibar, telephone, safe, piped music, television with satellite reception, air conditioning and Internet connection.

Our experience
Our room had an attic roof and the wood gave us the feeling of being in a mountain hut. Nice welcoming touches like a small board of fresh fruit prepared for the guest are always appreciated. The modern, open bathroom also offered huge closets - quite a palace!

The establishment has a restaurant with an elegant dining room and a coffee shop.
For those who do not want to retire early, there is the option to enjoy the simple spa cafeteria, its elegant lounges, or even its games room with billiards, table soccer, and television.
Our experience
At the buffet dinner we found a lot of variety and quality products (there's even an open plancha). If still, nothing convinces you, you also have a splendid menu from which we were able to try some delicious grilled scallops with red wine and mashed potato. Exquisite!
Breakfast was also very complete, with a great variety of products among which we highlight, above all, the very rich homemade pastries. What was very pleasant is that, during the day, the dining room is extremely bright. While we were having breakfast, we were entertained watching the early risers and sportsmen enjoying the golf course on the premises.

La segunda planta, en la que teníamos nuestra habitación, además de tener pasillos larguísimos, tenía un montón de rincones abuhardillados que, tal y como comprobaríamos a la mañana siguiente, proporcionan un montón de luz a todo el espacio.
El Balneario Augas Santas nos pareció un lugar muy distinguido y perfecto para desconexión (hasta el punto que se agradece que el recinto sea tan grande para que nos falle la wifi y poder desconectar de la vida real).
Para nosotros el Iberik Augas Santas, es sin duda , un pequeño oasis perdido entre la ciudad de Ourense y de Monforte de Lemos.
