General description
The Termas de Gerês (also known as Termas de Bouro) are located in the heart of the Peneda-Gerês National Park. In addition to a dreamlike setting, the region has a rich cultural and gastronomic heritage.
Description of the Balneario
In the facilities are made immersion baths, with bubbles, whirlpools, Scottish showers, circular, Vichy. There is an active pool, sauna and Turkish bath. Water ingestion treatments are also available.
The thermal season runs from 1 May to 31 October.

Type of waters
The waters of Termas do Gerês are especially indicated for liver, gallbladder, rheumatic and obesity-related ailments, diabetes, and hypertension. They are waters with an emergence temperature of 48ºC, bicarbonated-sodium, hyposaline, lytic, with a high silica and fluoride content (they are, in fact, among the most fluoridated in Europe).
The waters that nourish the Termas do Gerês establishment were already known in Roman times, as attested by coins found in various excavations. It would be, however, during the eighteenth century when the first baths buildings were built, being expanded at the end of the nineteenth century. Currently, the Thermal Establishment is fully remodeled and refurbished with modern thermal and wellness techniques.
