General description
Pedras Salgadas Spa & Nature Park is a 4-star tourist complex, located in the interior of northern Portugal, at an altitude of more than 500 meters above sea level. It has a total of 20 hectares and about 8 kilometers of trails to discover in the middle of nature.
The complex offers accommodation, circuit and thermal, spa and beauty treatments. The Thermal Spa, renovated by the architect Siza Vieira, has a wide offer to delight the visitor, a large indoor pool with water circuits, sauna and Turkish bath. In addition, Pedras Salgadas also has a restaurant, cafeteria, chapel and the so-called Pedra's Experience.
Description of the Spa
The waters were discovered many years ago by the locals, who used them to relieve various ailments. In the 19th century, the fame of the local springs grew, which began to attract visitors from far away, especially those suffering from digestive ailments.
The value of the waters was awarded in 1873, which gives an important impetus to the construction of a Thermal Spa, which will open in 1879. A few years later, new springs were discovered, thus expanding the importance of the spa.
The current facilities, Thermal Spa & Nature Park, were born in 2009 in a building modernized by the mastery of Siza Vieira, the creation of the first Eco Houses, and the adaptation to the most modern techniques. It opened its doors in 2012 and has 4 stars.
The thermal facilities have 14 treatment cabins -including 5 hydrotherapies and 2 double rooms-, an indoor pool with a jet circuit, a Turkish bath, and sauna, two relaxation rooms, and various showers. Treatments and various thermal programs are also offered.

In the interior of the park there are 5 mineral water springs: Pedras Salgadas, Preciosa, Penedo, Grande Alcalina and Don Fernando. All of them have therapeutic properties, especially related to the digestive system, as well as indicated against diuretic ailments, blood pressure, respiratory and rheumatic conditions.
They are hypersaline, gasocarbonated, bicarbonated and sodium waters, which rise at 18ºC.

Accommodation is offered in the form of Eco Houses and Tree Houses.
The 16 Eco-Houses available at the site were designed by architect Luís Rebelo de Andrade, following a modern and modular construction. They consist of two rooms, a living room, kitchenette, bathroom, hall and office. These houses blend in with nature, as they are inserted in the park that surrounds the thermal facilities. The 16 Eco-Houses are characterized as follows:
- Two "Privilege" Eco-Houses: for 4-6 people, with 86 m2.
- Seven Eco-Houses "Deluxe": for 2-4 people, with 62 m2.
- Four "Superior" Eco-Houses: for 2-4 persons, with 44 m2.

In addition to the Eco-Houses, the complex offers the possibility of staying in Tree Houses, also designed by architect Luís Rebelo de Andrade. The large windows allow you to enjoy the surrounding nature, giving prominence to centennial park. They have a bathroom, kitchenette, double bed, and sofa.

The Costa del restaurant Casa de Chá offers products from the region and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

For its part, the Bar Avelames (Espaço de Lazer) offers a cheerful and quiet space, where you can also enjoy billiards or a movie in its cinema room, while enjoying a cocktail. It also has a Kid's Club for the little ones.
In addition to the restaurant offer, the complex also has an Events Room / Casino, a chapel and the Pedra's Experience, a recreational-tourist attraction in the form of an interactive and sensory museum space, open from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 14:00 to 18:30.
