Description of the Spa

At the Mandalay Spa at Royal Óbidos Spa & Golf Resort you can discover exclusive rituals and pamper yourself while you relax and take care of your body. The spa takes its name from the ancient royal capital of Burma and its philosophy is based on Southeast Asian therapies, with treatments inspired by Indian and Thai medicine.

The spa has 5 treatment rooms (2 of them for couples), a Vichy shower, relaxation room, pilates room, sauna, Turkish bath and dynamic pool with jacuzzi.

In addition, the Spa Health Club offers a heated indoor pool and a fitness center with natural light.

We recommend making reservations in advance, as they are subject to availability.

The treatments are based on thehealing traditions of Thai royalty and Indian Ayurvedic medicine, recognized as the oldest medical science in India.

Mandalay Spa offers several international brands of excellence, such as SUNDIRI, inspired by Ayurveda, Ytsara (Thai), The Refinery London(special for men) and Linda Meredith Skincare, known for its advanced cosmetic formulas and legendary facial treatments loved by Hollywood celebrities.

Combining traditional remedies with a deep therapeutic touch, Mandalay Spa provides authentic experiences to relax, elevate the spirit and achieve emotional bliss.

In the signature rituals offered by Mandalay Spa inÓbidos, you'll find the "Exotic Coconut Ritual"includes a coconut body scrub, personalized massage and hair wrap with organic coconut oil, the "Himalayan Detoxifying Treatment"combines a Himalayan salt body polish and wrap with a detoxifying massage.

For couples, the "Honey Moon" offers a special massage inspired by the lomi-lomi technique, along with an express facial massage. The "Shirodhara Ritual"includes a warm oil that targets the third eye, followed by an Ayurvedic scalp massage and a marma facial massage. The "Switch-Off (Sleep Therapy) induces sleep with a relaxing foot bath and slow, deep movements along with a Thai herbal pouch. Other rituals such as "Time For 2," "Ultimate Shower Experience," and "Vichy Scrub" are also offered.

The proposa l"Golf Special" offered by Mandalay Spa in Óbidos are treatments and massages designed specially for golf lovers.

Quick but effective options are also offered for those seeking limited relaxation time such as the Ayurvedic Bath, a whirlpool bath with Ayurvedic soak to detoxify or relax the body; the Ayurvedic Head Massage, an ancient Indian massage technique to relieve tension and expel stress; the Back Massage, a relaxing back massage; the Revitalizing or Moisturizing Mini Facial, a skin cleansing, exfoliation and mask with oxygenating and moisturizing properties; the Feet and Legs Ritual, a treatment to soothe heavy, aching legs through heat and cold contrasts to stimulate blood circulation; the Scrub 4 You, organic and natural exfoliants with essential oils for an energizing or relaxing action; and the Personalized Ritual, where you can talk to the therapist about your individual needs and get a fully customized experience.

Specific treatments for children and mums

Treatments for mothers are designed to provide relaxation and well-being during pregnancy and after childbirth.

• The "Mother-to-be" treatment is a relaxation massage that helps relieve back pain and uses lymphatic drainage techniques to alleviate fluid retention.
• "Mommy & Me"is a massage that incorporates Thai techniques, stimulating pressure points on the head, legs and feet, followed by an oil massage on the back and arms.
• The "Shantala" treatment focuses especially on the relationship between parent and baby. The therapist will teach the Shantala massage, an ancient Indian massage characterized by its rhythmic and enchanting movements.
