General description
The spa is surrounded by palm trees, tropical catalpas, magnolias, linden trees, giant cedars of the Botanical Park and by the Gipuzkoan mountain in the municipality of Zestoa.
Description of the Balneario
The spa offers 4 circuits:
- The three-pool circuit: three mineral-medicinal water pools at different temperatures (33ºC, 31ºC., and 36ºC) with jets.
- The millennium circuit: with two Turkish bath (steam) rooms, a mineral-medicinal water pool at 34ºC with bubble beds and seats, jets, cervical waterfalls, and underwater jets.
- The millennium circuit with sweating: the same route as above is performed, but, in the end, the body is wrapped with blankets and towels for a relaxation session of about 20 minutes and ends with a relaxing or cleansing infusion.
- The back program: whirlpool bath and application of parafango on the back. It ends with a partial back massage.
It is mandatory to wear a cap and flip-flops to access the spa (if you don't have them, they can be purchased there).

Type of waters
The spa was built in 1760 and is the only one of this style preserved in the Basque Country.
The waters of Cetona have mineral-medicinal properties. Legend has it that the dogs of the Marquis of San Millán recovered their health thanks to these waters and, in 1792, they would be declared of public utility. In 1804 it opened its doors as Casa de Baños and was expanded during the 19th century. The Gran Hotel, the today's flagship building, was built in 1893. Great illustrious personalities have visited the facilities since then: Queen María, the Infante Don Francisco de Paula de Borbón, the Duke of Osuna, Jovellanos, Azaña, Azorín, Pereda, Pio Baroja, Juan Mari Arzak or even the fado singer Amalia Rodríguez.
Those from the spring of San Ignacio are strongly mineralized sodium chloride sulfate sodium chloride and those from the spring of Nuestra Señora de la Natividad are hypothermal chloride sulfate.

The Gran Hotel de Cestona (3 stars) is a historic hotel from the 18th century, so you will find a spectacular imperial staircase next to the reception, spacious galleries, large dining rooms, and lounges from the spa's most splendid period.
The Hotel Etxeberri (3 stars) is a modern hotel located on the other side of the river and is connected by a walkway to the spa.
The two hotels it has a total of 127 rooms (singles, doubles, and suites).
