General description
The Dávila spa hotel is an establishment in the historic center of Caldas overlooking the Umia River. It is known that the waters that feed these facilities were used since times before the Roman domination, use that would be enjoyed by the inhabitants of the area in a particular way for a century.
In the year 1780 Don Joaquín Dávila y Mariño built the Casa de Baños Dávila. The original bathhouse had three pools, one with water at 38ºC and which could hold a dozen people, and two others with space for 6 people, at 32ºC and 28ºC respectively. In 1880, 100 years after its creation, the facilities underwent a reform, which converted the bathhouse into a spa. This involves the closure of the pools, the creation of individual rooms with bathtubs, a room with a sitz bath with a vaginal shower, 2 rooms dedicated to respiratory treatments, a cooling room, and, of course, medical consultation.
In 1998 the last renovation to date was carried out, which sought to maintain the historical value while modernizing the facilities.
It has an exceptional bamboo reed bed and its own parking area.
