Type of waters
The Iberian settlers settled in the area - the 5th century BC - was the first to use the thermal waters that flow there. Later, as the town was on a trade route, the Romans rediscovered the hot springs and built thermal baths. In fact, the spa still preserves a Roman tombstone that testifies to this.
With various uses over the centuries, it will be in 1850 when the Balneario de Archena falls into private hands. The Hotel Leon was built then (1858), followed by the Hotel Termas (1862). It would not be until the end of the century, in 1878, that the Hotel Levante was built.
The mineral-medicinal water of the Archena Spa was declared of public utility in 1869. It flows at 52.5ºC and is classified as sulfur-sulfate-chloride-chloride-sodium-calcium water. It is especially indicated for various ailments, such as rheumatism, vertebral pain, recovery from post-traumatic sequelae and traumatic surgery, respiratory disorders, certain dermatological processes, and elimination of anxiety and stress.
The properties of medicinal mineral spa water make it an excellent natural remedy for both physical ailments and to recover the general well-being of the body.
