La Torre de la Galea is an ancient medieval tower located in Pamplona. It was built in the 11th century and demolished in the 16th century. It is considered the main defensive element of the wall of the burgh of San Cernin and is believed to have been used by Guillermo de Anelier as a lancer during the War of Navarrería.
During the construction of the Hotel Pompaelo, remains of this tower were discovered, which now form part of the common areas and a room of the hotel.
In addition, rests from Roman times and a defensive moat of uncertain origin were found in the excavation area. This archaeological discovery has been of great importance for the history of Pamplona and allows visitors to the hotel to enjoy a historical tour of the city.
