General description
The mineral waters of the Almeida thermal complex are born from the escaped mountains that form the valley where the river Côa flows at an altitude of 560 m, 25 km northwest of Vila de Almeida, district of A Guarda.
Enveloped in a green landscape, it is a perfect destination to escape from daily stress, and recharge energies through wellness.
The thermal complex has a treatment area (balneotherapy), gyms, sauna, Turkish baths, massage cabins, and a medical area consisting of a waiting room, medical secretarial, medical office, and Clinical Director's office whose main objective, beyond wellness and combating stress, is the treatment of respiratory diseases, rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases.
The region also offers cultural and natural resources to be explored, such as the Almeida Military Museum, the historic center of Almedia, the Center for Military Architecture Studies, and the Memorial to Refugees and Consul Aristides Sousa Mendes. You can also take a bike or walk around the surroundings, practice tennis, horseback riding and swimming.
