General description
The thermal village of Vidago experienced its splendor between 1875 and 1877, when King Louis I visited the spa. During the reign of D. Carlos I, the royal family and their guests also made Vidago one of their favorite destinations for the therapeutic benefits of its medicinal waters. In the 1950s, high society used to stay at the Vidago Palace Hotel, surrounded by a forest, golf courses and belle epoque fountains.
