General description
The Sangemil Thermal Baths are located in the parish of Lajeosa de Dao, on the banks of the Dao River, in the municipality of Tondela, next to the bordering municipalities of Carregal do Sal and Viseu.
Open to the public since 1994 in the current facilities were renovated in 1999. It is visited by agüistas from all over the country and visitors from different countries.
The hot sulfurous waters that spontaneously gushed from the riverbed have always attracted people who found benefits for the body and daily comfort.
Used for therapeutic purposes since the 18th century, they still retain their medicinal properties, being a gift of nature and a true source of life, contributing more and more to a "healthy mind in a healthy body".
Type of waters
The waters are mineralized, sulfurous, bicarbonated, sodic, and fluoridated.
They bubble at 49º C.
They are indicated for respiratory system ailments (rhinosinusitis, bronchitis, and laryngotracheitis) and rheumatic and musculoskeletal (osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthrosis, arthropathies, pre and post orthopedic surgery and fibromyalgia syndrome).
