General description
The Hotel Castilla Termal Monasterio de Valbuena is located in the heart of Ribera del Duero. The building is located in one of the best preserved Cistercian monasteries in Europe from the twelfth century.
Description of the Balneario
The Thermal Pool (with mineral-medicinal thermal waters) has different jacuzzis, beds, and individual massage seats with bubbles, jets, curtains, and water cannons. There is also a relaxation area.
The Contrasts Circuit is a recreation of the Chapel of St. Peter (also known as the treasure chapel) located outside the church, on the south side of the Monastery of Valbuena. On its walls, we can see Gothic frescoes. On this tour, you will find a sauna, bithermal showers, a footbath, hot and cold water pools, a hammam steam bath, an ice fountain, and a rest room (with infusions and fruits by the fireplace).
It is possible to book this tour for two people.

Type of waters
The waters of the spa come from the Manantial de San Bernardo and spring at 25º C. The Cistercian monks already used its waters in the 12th century to irrigate the vineyards that today are part of the Ribera del Duero appellation of origin.
They are sulfated sodium-calcium and medium mineralization mineral waters.
