General description
The legend surrounds the origins of the spa. Since time immemorial the locals have taken advantage of the benefits of its waters to treat various ailments. The current spa offers much more than that.
The Hotel Balneario Fuentes del Trampal, a balance between tradition and modernity, is located in the middle of a large meadow in Extremadura, in the region of Montánchez and Tamuja, halfway between two World Heritage Cities, Mérida (28 km)and Cáceres(19 km).
This complex, surrounded by fields, holm oaks, and leafy trees, is designed to provide rest, relaxation, and wellness, thanks to its spring of mineral-medicinal waters. It specializes in wraps, massages, and body wraps to take care of the skin.
In Alcuéscar, we recommend visiting the town of Montánchez, the dolmen de Lácara, and the basilica of Santa Lucía del Trampal.
Also, if you like good food, Montánchez is a reference in Iberian ham (regulated by the D.O. Dehesa de Extremadura). There you can also visit its impressive castle, wineries, restaurants, and specialty stores to taste this star product.
At 20 minutes from the spa is the Cornalvo Natural Park where you can make walking routes or mountain biking. Mediterranean nature in its purest form.
Description of the Balneario
The spa consists of whirlpool baths, thermal baths, jets, antalgic currents, circular showers, contrast showers, a mist grotto, inhalers, a mini relaxation pool, a spray corridor, a dynamic pool, a Finnish sauna and a vaporarium.
In summer, it also offers an outdoor swimming pool.

The waters of the spa are bicarbonated, oligometallic, chlorinated, and ferruginous. They emerge at 19º C from a nearby spring.
