General description
The Hotel Balneario El Raposo is located in El Raposo, near Zafra and Puebla de Sancho Pérez, in the south of the province of Badajoz.
A classic of the thermal baths. Already since 1860 the existence of the miraculous logos of Raposo has been known. Its natural muds, rich in magnesium, silicon, and calcium, are beneficial for joints, rheumatism, and dermatological conditions.
Surrounded by 30,000 m2 of magnificent gardens of palm trees and wrought iron arches, it is a true thermal oasis of olive groves and surrounding vineyards. It has been declared a Natural Thermal Environment in 2009, a seal of excellence for those thermal centers where the sensory and perceptual comfort of the individual is enhanced.
This establishment has an unhurried, slow thermal concept, which avoids standard and all-inclusive programs.
Since 2013, aromatic and medicinal plants have been grown in organic farming to protect the spring and beautify the environment.
El Raposo is a perfect starting point to visit villages with a lot of historical heritage and good Iberian acorn-fed ham. In the surroundings it is recommended to visit 4 towns declared Historic-Artistic Ensemble: Burguillos del Cerro (29 km), Zafra (10 km), Feria (30 km), and Fuente del Maestre(32 km).
Don't miss the gastronomy of the land, with its strong roots: cheeses, hams, oils, pork and lamb, fruits. Extremadura is also a land of good wines. Be sure to visit the wineries of the Ribera del Guadiana.
You can also enjoy protected natural areas and practice hiking, mountain biking and bird watching.

Description of the Balneario
The spa has a magnificent active heated pool with sequential underwater jets, bubble beds and seats, a water cascade, a jet, and phlebotherapy area. The water is at 32.8ºC.
The sludge is stored in maturation pools covered with thermal water.

The benefits of the waters and mud of this spring El Raposo already became known in 1860, so in 1886 the Casa de Baños was founded. In 1925 the spa was finally built which has been enlarged and reformed over successive decades.
The waters of the spa are bicarbonated, calcium, magnesium, and radioactive. They are recommended for rheumatism, osteoarthritis, nervous system, respiratory, digestive, and dermatological conditions.
In addition to its natural mud of great fame possesses silicon, magnesium, and calcium.
