General description
The Baños de Montemayor is located in the north of Cáceres, near Salamanca, in the Ambroz Valley region. The town was designated in 2011 as Villa Termal Excelente, for the quality of its waters and variety of services offered (only 5 Spanish towns are part of this distinguished title).
Its spa is one of the main thermal destinations in Spain. It offers a wide range of health and wellness tourism and a rich cultural and natural heritage.
The modern building still preserves several Roman remains, including a thermal bath.
Don't miss a stroll through the streets of Baños de Montemayor to visit its halls in belle époque style, its Roman legacy (the Vía de la Plata with its thermal baths and Roman road) and the centers of interpretation of the Vía de la Plata and Crafts or the museum of the Milling Industry.
In the Ambroz Valley we recommend visiting the judería de Hervás, declared an Asset of Cultural Interest, experiencing the fiesta del Otoño Mágica (declared of Regional Tourist Interest) and walking routes.

Type of waters

From the 17th century onwards thermal baths were acquiring more and more fame.
The waters of the spa are mineromedicinal, calcic, sulfurous, sodium, and oligo metallic. They spring at 43º C from the Columna" and "Arqueta" springs.
