General description
In the past, the Miño River was full of washerwomen, fishmongers, boatmen and mills that were key to the economy of the city. One of the few that are still preserved, gives its name to this bathing area.
Following the road, just over 2 kilometers away from O Tinteiro and surrounded by riverside vegetation, is the thermal complex of Muíño da Veiga, Ourense. This thermal complex is located next to a mill (from which it takes its name) and on the very edge of the river Miño.
For this reason, in winter it is difficult to access this area, which has a total of five pools of different sizes and temperatures: a main pool of 200 square meters, one of 130 square meters and two smaller ones, of 55 and 45 square meters, plus a cold water pool for contrast baths.
Description of the Balneario
There are five hot springs built in stone, each with different temperatures, where you can take a relaxing bath in the middle of nature with the lullaby of the river.
The access is free of charge. They have toilets and changing rooms.
Open in autumn-winter from 10:00 to 19:00 and in spring-summer from 10:00 to 20:00
Type of waters
The bathing water is around 40ºC, but is fed by springs where the water gushes at temperatures of more than 70ºC, with a flow rate of 20 liters per second.
The waters are weakly mineralized and alkaline, bicarbonate-sodium, fluoride and silicate. They are especially recommended for skin conditions, dermatitis and eczema.
They are recommended for dermatological and locomotor system disorders.
